TryUnex

AI virtual try-on, using the clothes you already own

Most virtual try-on shows you a garment from a shop. TryUnex does the opposite: it puts the clothes already hanging in your wardrobe onto a photo of you, so you can judge an outfit before you get dressed.

What it actually does

You upload one photo of yourself, once. Then you pick pieces from your digital wardrobe — a top and trousers, or a dress and a jacket — and TryUnex generates a single image of you wearing that combination together.

The point is the combination. A shirt you like and trousers you like can still read badly together, and a hanger tells you nothing about proportion. Seeing the whole look on your own body, in your own proportions, answers a question a mirror only answers after you have already changed.

How it works

  1. Add your clothes. Photograph each piece once. Give it a name, a category and a style tag so it is easy to find later.
  2. Add a photo of yourself. One clear, full-body shot in decent light. Fitted clothing helps the model read your silhouette. You do this once, not per look.
  3. Choose up to five pieces. Sensible rules apply automatically — one pair of trousers, a dress replaces a separate top and bottom, layering is allowed, one pair of shoes.
  4. Generate. The result takes a few seconds and keeps your face, pose, lighting and background. Only the clothing changes.
An honest limit: a virtual try-on is a styling preview, not a fitting. It shows how a look reads — proportion, colour, silhouette — but it cannot tell you whether something fits. Choose your usual size based on the garment's own measurements.

Why preview an outfit at all

You wear a fraction of what you own

Most wardrobes have a core of familiar outfits and a long tail of pieces that rarely get worn — usually not because they are wrong, but because nobody has worked out what they go with. Previewing combinations is a low-effort way to test ideas you would not otherwise bother to try on.

Mornings get easier

Deciding what to wear is a decision made at the worst possible time of day. Trying combinations the evening before, and saving the one that works, moves that decision somewhere calmer.

You buy less by accident

A lot of clothes shopping is really a search for an outfit rather than a garment. Seeing that you already own a workable combination is often enough to close the tab.

Your photo and your privacy

The photo of you and every generated result are private to your account. They are stored in access-controlled storage and can only be read after we have checked the account asking is yours; the links your device receives expire after a few minutes.

Your photo is sent to our AI provider solely to generate the look you asked for. It is never used to train TryUnex models, and never shown to other people or used in marketing without asking you separately. You can delete any image, and deleting it removes the underlying file too.

What it costs

New members receive five free try-on credits, and one more free credit every two weeks after that.A look of one to three pieces costs one credit; four or five costs two. Opening a look you have already generated is free, and if a generation fails the credit goes back automatically.

Common questions

Is AI virtual try-on accurate?

It is accurate about how a look reads and unreliable about fit. Treat it as a styling tool. Fabric drape, sizing and how a garment behaves when you move are beyond what an image can tell you.

Do I need a professional photo?

No. A clear, full-body photo in reasonable light is enough. Better light produces a better result, but nothing is staged.

Can I try on clothes I do not own?

Yes, for anything listed in the TryUnex thrift marketplace. You can preview a second-hand piece against your own wardrobe before messaging the seller.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. TryUnex is built mobile-first, and there is an Android app.
